When I started the band our most requested song was 'Girl On The Bus', which was written by Ian Herold. Ian also wrote a song called 'Girls at the Party', which I played a lot solo. Then, at one point Ian asked that I not perform his stuff any more so I stopped.
Well it didn't take long before I started getting flack from some female fans who liked the stories those songs told. With that in mind I decided to write my own girls story in the hopes that it would be as popular. Lucky for me now they ask for this one haha!
lyrics
Right Girl (Gladstone 2013)
Jenny was the wrong girl
Jenny was the wrong girl
She helped me get started
Showed me where my heart was
But Jenny was the wrong girl
Emily was the right girl
Emily was the right girl
She kissed me by the fire
My status went up higher
Cause Emily was the right girl
Why cant I find you, why cant it see?
The girl from column a, b, c
I know your out there, I know your face
Your curvy shape and your sun kissed nape
Natasha was the wrong girl
Natasha was the wrong girl
Her jeans were tight as rubber
My fingers sore and stubborn
Natasha was the wrong girl
Tina was the right girl
Tina was the right girl
She gave me lots of yardage
And left me broken hearted
Tina was the right girl
Why cant I find you, why cant it see?
The girl from column a, b, c
On the beach or on my boat
All this keeps my dreams afloat
Cathy was the wrong girl
Cathy was the wrong girl
A dad she couldn’t follow
Her mother stuck and hollow
Cathy was the wrong girl
Stephanie was the right girl
Stephanie was the right girl
Her parents didn’t like me
I never went to Ivy
But Stephanie was the right girl
I saw the sun in Robin's eyes
I saw the stars in Jesse’s eyes
I walked the moon in Karina’s hand
And lost my mind in Bea’s plans
Becky, Anita, Sally, Mo
Tracey, Pia, Chicako
Rebecca, Jenny, yes there were two
Three if you count the petting zoo
Jenny was the right girl
Jenny was the right girl!
