When I was a kid, my best pal Aubrey and I used to hang out in his living room and play old Elvis Presley '78's on a crappy turntable. In grade 4 we formed a 'band' and got permission from Mrs. Sacks to practice our lip syncing routine during class.

On the big day we set up tables in the music room as a stage with a cassette player underneath and a kid named Nelson to run it. The kids filed in and we took the stage, Aubrey in front, me to his left and I forget the other kids name to his right. The set list started out with Elvis of course and half-way through the song Aubrey began whispering loudly to Nelson under the table, "Close Your Eyes". He was of course referring to the Beatles tune as our next number but for some reason I thought he meant it literally and so I did. My string guitar strap broke during the second song but I kept my eyes closed for the rest of the set.
